‘A city of pain, art, and unyielding strength’: TYSK releases a new Kharkiv-dedicated project

The Kharkiv-based formation TYSK, founded by Anton Nazarko and Alex Pervukhin, has released a new project, ‘Kharkiv Worldwide’. The music video, directed by visual artist Kris Voitkiv and cinematographer Alex Babenko (‘2000 Meters to Andriivka’), explores the ‘emergence of a young underground scene’ in Kharkiv and the development of a community around the Some People Center of New Culture

Some People opened a cultural center in 2023. It combines a multi-genre concert venue — mixing the electronic scene, new Ukrainian music, and contemporary theater — as well as a space for audiovisual performances, a co-working space for artists, a recording studio, a photo studio, and a separate streetwear line.

The new video is described by TYSK as ‘a visual story about key representatives of a community that formed just 20 km from the front line as the center was being developed’. The main goal of the project was to ‘convey the tireless thirst for life and music of Kharkiv’s younger generation’, which is simultaneously undergoing transformation amid the full-scale war.

‘‘A city of pain, art, and unyielding strength’ emerges here as an environment where, despite the war, a new cultural scene is taking shape’, the band adds.

The team worked on the video throughout the winter of 2025–2026.

About the Some People Center of New Culture

Previously, Some People’s main headquarters was located on Kvitky-Osnovianenka Street, sharing a building with the Kharkiv-based dry cleaner Sneaker Mate, the editorial office of rap.ua, and a coffee shop. The premises were damaged in the first days of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine during one of the missile strikes.

The team decided to create their own space in December 2022. It was built on the grounds of a former commercial machinery plant near the city’s historic center.

The cultural center features a multi-genre concert venue bringing together the electronic scene, new Ukrainian music, and contemporary theatre, as well as a space for audiovisual performances, a co-working area for artists, a recording studio, and a photo studio. The space also includes a streetwear line run by the Sneaker Mate team and a food corner by the Protagonist bar. The Some People center additionally features so-called ‘philosophical clubs’.
