Liky Pid Nohamy label has released the album ‘rozdily’ (chapters) by musician nohyruky. The release includes five tracks that the artist wrote in two days
Each track on the release is a separate section that represents Evelina’s (the musician’s real name. — Note from DTF Magazine) internal processes.
‘Chapter 0’ is the starting point, ‘Chapter 1’ is doubt and excitement, ‘Chapter 2’ is the call, ‘Chapter 3’ is relaxed muscles, and ‘Chapter 4’ is the shift.
‘It’s a story of 5 chapters which took place at the beginning of spring, when nature was still sleeping and you could hear the tired tension in the air. The story as a set of internal processes that found a way out through this form’, the album description reads.
According to Evelina, she made four of the five tracks ‘in a few hours’: ‘At first I thought the album was ready. But after some time and an infinite number of listens, I was missing something important. I thought it was missing the ending, but it turned out it was missing the intro. I knew I needed some kind of state of mind for it, so I waited for it and after an hour, ‘chapter 0’ completed the album, thus making it whole’.
You can listen to and purchase ‘rozdily’ (chapters) on Bandcamp. According to the label, Liky Pid Nohamy will transfer 100% of profits to Ukrainian volunteer organizations.
About nohyruky
nohyruky is a Lviv-based musical project by Evelina Stebelska, who works in the ambient genre. The artist first started releasing music on SoundCloud in 2018. At that time, according to Evelina, nohyruky was ‘a small island of strength for her, a search through sounds and the process of creation, which later turned into a permanent and stable practice’.
When creating tracks, the musician emphasizes simplicity, but also sets many restrictions for herself: she uses a very simple program, which has rather limited capabilities; she makes projects ‘quickly, saving the track and deleting the project without the possibility to change something’; and she records melodies, lyrics and vocals from the first time.
‘For me, music is practice. The same as my other interests and ways of coping with life in all its manifestations. I return to music every time, precisely because I understand that it is important to me’, Evelina adds.
Her last full-length release, an album titled ‘album I’ was released in June 2023.
In April, the debut album by Kremenchuk musician orfin was released via the Liky Pid Nohamy label. The release includes 13 tracks combining recordings with playing acoustic and electronic instruments with the help of cassettes.
