Kyiv-based techwear brand presented its fall drop in the showroom on Striletska. It features nine items — a ten-kilogram sweater made of wires, as well as functional items such as outerwear, pants and a shopper bag
Pokode creates mostly functional items, but there are certain show pieces in every drop, as the brand notes. Now such an item is a sweater that’s made of wires and weighs about ten kilograms. ‘It’s not super wearable and very heavy, but it’s a certain element of creativity’, the brand’s founder Polina Kobzieva says.
‘I wanted to show how I reuse the material, — she continues. — The neighbors were going to throw away these wires, but my team and I collected them and created this wonderful sweater’. At the same time, the brand is positioning it as ‘an art piece that they don’t plan to release all the time’.
Among the outerwear options are an ‘ultralight raincoat’ and a jacket. The raincoat, created from a water-resistant fabric, protects against rain and wind and can be folded into a pocket that can be attached to a carabiner.
The black jacket is available in a limited edition of 12 pieces and is adjustable in width and complemented by a mesh yoke for better ventilation.
Another item available in a limited edition of six pieces are pants made of Roberto Cavalli fabric found in stock.
They are available in one size, but with the help of two straps they are adjustable from S to L. Another version made in black color will be sold in unlimited quantities.
The drop also includes a white T-shirt with a wavy edge and a black hooded longsleeve made from a stretchy interlock fabric, so it ‘replicates the anatomy of the male body’.
The vest is made of wool and can be snapped up on either side. Among the accessories is a shopper bag that can be transformed into a belt and can also be used as a hands-free bag for a small number of items.
The menswear brand Pokode was founded in 2019. Before that, Polina Kobzieva worked as an assistant designer at the OSTEL brand, then — as a PR manager at the APILAT bridal fashion brand.
Previous Pokode collections have included a T-shirt ‘that’s almost wrinkle-free’, a reversible high-neck cotton sweater that has black and gray sides. As well as a jacket and transformer pants.
