Tofudj випустив альбом care

Kyiv-based electronic musician Tofudj has released the album ‘care’

The second album by Tofudj (Artem Ilin) was released on the Kyiv-based label Pep Gaffe. The producer dedicated it to his friends — ‘those who stay close and those who are no longer with us’

The album features ten tracks created between 2020 and 2025 as part of ‘ongoing musical explorations’ and within a musical ecosystem in which ‘friends have always been a vital part’.

‘It’s a reflection on the events that unfolded during this period — both positive and tragic: the loss of close friends of mine with whom I shared a love for creativity — Drifted, mxtune, and Yana Pavlova’, Artem adds.

Despite the fact that, together with the title of the producer’s previous album, ‘take’, this release forms the phrase ‘take care’, the two albums are not connected. ‘It’s rather a play on words that conveys the album’s core message — care and remembrance’, the musician explains.

The cover of ‘care’ features a photograph that Tofudj took on the Teteriv River in September 2024. ‘It’s a record of memories from a day I shared with close friends, including a friend who is no longer with us’, he says.

About Tofudj’s previous release

All six tracks on the album Take were written by the musician in the first months of russia’s invasion of Ukraine, as an attempt to distance himself from reality.

According to Tofudj, the release is ‘aimed not so much at depicting the horrific reality, but rather at understanding it, and at helping to regain strength and inspiration in these turbulent times’.
