MOT will host an exhibition by Stefan Sagmeister, one of the world’s most renowned designers

On October 5, Lviv’s ‘Dysarium’ design festival team, together with the don’t Take Fake team, will open Stefan Sagmeister’s first exhibition in Lviv. ‘Beautiful Numbers’, which will run in the MOT art space, will present the artist’s works created especially for the exhibition in Ukraine

In them, Sagmeister combines design and data, particularly from the UN, the World Bank and other global and national databases, turning numbers into visual representations. In recent years, the artist has focused on exploring themes of happiness, beauty and human progress — the latter being the central theme of Stefan’s new exhibition.

More details about the concept, schedule and tickets will be revealed soon. The official opening of the exhibition will take place on October 5 at 12.00 p.m.

In addition, Sagmeister will come to Lviv, where he will speak at the ‘Dysarium’ conference on October 5.

About MOT

MOT is a temporary cultural space by don’t Take Fake team that ran during February-October 2023 in Kyiv, Dnipro, Lutsk and Lviv.

The two-story structure, built from 27 modules, housed an exhibition of canvases, sculptures, installations and audiovisual works by 28 artists from 10 countries, who dedicated their works to the theme of ‘temporality’ — the  state of uncertainty and change in which Ukrainians find themselves now. The space worked in Kyiv for three months and then traveled across Ukraine — Dnipro, Lutsk and Lviv.

You can find out more about MOT, its idea and history, architectural concept and visual language, as well as read exclusive interviews with the curator of the project and Ukrainian and foreign artists in our special topic.

During six months of its work, MOT accumulated more than 10 million UAH from the sale of entrance tickets and items from the gift store, which became a fund for the restoration of art institutions damaged as a result of russian aggression. Chernihiv Regional Art Museum named after Hryhorii Galagan will be the first to receive help from it.

In September 2024, the MOT team organized a charity auction in Paris. The works presented in the first exhibition of the ‘Temporality’ space were exhibited and sold, and the profits will also be donated to the art space fund.
