Serhii Hryhorovych is working on a new sci-fi game — what has he said about it?

Serhii Hryhorovych, founder of GSC Game World, has announced a new project titled S.T.R.A.N.G.E.R. Bermuda SOS, Interfax-Ukraine reports. According to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. creator, the game will combine ‘unprecedented technologies’

The game is set in a world that has survived a global nuclear catastrophe. The developer describes the project as ‘not just a game, but an immersive leap forward’, combining previous developments with modern technologies, including AI.

‘S.T.R.A.N.G.E.R. will embody the best of what we’ve developed over more than 33 years of work by our company’s diverse teams. At the same time, it will offer fans technologies and a vision the industry has never seen before’, Hryhorovych said.

However, it remains unclear whether the GSC Game World team will be involved in the project. Serhii Hryhorovych is not a shareholder in the company, and its last two projects were led by his brother, Yevhen Hryhorovych.

About GSC Game World’s latest project

On November 20, 2024, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl — the studio’s largest project — was released on PC.

The game features a non-linear storyline that directly depends on the player’s actions. It can be completed in multiple ways, and players’ decisions affect the state of the world and lead to different endings.

Another key innovation is ‘one of the largest open worlds’, replacing the interconnected standalone locations. The game unfolds across both new areas and locations known from the previous installments.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was developed using the new Unreal Engine 5. The game’s script exceeds 350,000 words, and its open world spans 64 square kilometers. The developers say that completing multiple playthroughs will require more than 100 hours.
