Ukrainian post-punk, indie rock and electropop: the developers of ‘S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl’ announced game radio

GSC Game World studio has released a new trailer for the game ‘S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl’, which features an in-game radio. The video contains songs by three bands — ‘Chrysanthemums’ by the band anastymoza, ‘Vulytsia Skhid’ by DK Energetyk and ‘Zhyty’ by The Unsleeping

You can listen to the radio at the ‘Rostok’ location, which belongs to the faction ‘Volia’. There the player can sell or buy items, take tasks and rest.

‘Before going out, it would be nice to relax and listen to some music. A piece of food, the morning sun, and an echo from the Big Earth playing in your ears. The Zone is not always about movement, struggle and survival. Sometimes it is felt in melodies, reflections, in savoring what is ahead, in the next journey’, the trailer description reads.

Before that, the track ‘Chrysanthemums’ was in the ‘The Time of Opportunities’ trailer, which was released in June. The same trailer also featured the track ‘Energetyk’ by DK Energetyk.

] Earlier, rapper Palindrom also hinted at the likely appearance of his track in the upcoming game.

In his Telegram channel he posted a screenshot from the trailer, namely the moment with the radio, and wrote ‘Are there any gamers among us who are waiting for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2? Just asking…’. Listeners in the comments noted that at the moment when the game character turns the radio knob, a snippet of one of Palindrom’s songs is playing.

‘S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl’ is set for release on PC and Xbox Series X/S on September 5, 2024. The game will have a non-linear plot, which will directly depend on the player’s actions, and will be the most ambitious and large-scale project of GSC Game World.
