YUVI returns to her roots in the new single ‘kkhts’

‘kkhts’ became YUVI’s first solo single after a series of experiments and collaborations, including those with Renie Cares, BADWOR7H, and GRABAR. In the track, the singer and producer returns to a combination of dark, moody electronics and sensual vocals

According to YUVI, the past year has been full of experiments and new sounds, but at the same time it was a ‘challenge’, since the producer wasn’t used to working on her own music together with other producers.

The return to the ‘old’ sound was a conscious decision. YUVI was dissatisfied with how much her music had changed during this period:

‘I noticed how much my sound had started to change, and it made me feel uncomfortable. So yes, I’m consciously returning to my own roots. YUVI is about searching and conscious choice — even if it’s a return to something forgotten or erased.’

About the music videos for ‘kkhts’

The release of the track was complemented by a series of videos shot by photographer and director Artem Plutalov. According to him, the videos are based on the idea of ‘sexual mysticism, drawing on the legacy of 90s fashion culture’.

Ulyana’s look was styled by Margarita Shekel, who had previously worked on Sevdaliza’s ‘HEROINA’ music video. ‘While working on the outfit, I was also going through the loss of a loved one. At the same time, YUVI shared that her new track is about a metaphorical death, so we met at the same point,’ Shekel says.

Sevdaliza released a new music video. It was directed by Tanu Muiño and styled by Margarita Shekel. Here’s how it went

The central element of YUVI’s look was black lace, which, according to the stylist, became a simple yet symbolic code framing the producer’s dark side of music:

‘It is both fragile and strong, capable of structuring the space around the artist and becoming a symbol of her state.’

The nail design, which ‘added an accent on the body and made the movements more sculptural’, was created for the video by Oksana Zavora.

About YUVI’s previous releases

In June 2025, YUVI released a joint single with BADWOR7H titled ‘Kytsia’. The producers’ first collaborative release is a dance track about ‘meanings, memories, and doubts’ — unique to each listener.

The dance part of ‘Kytsia’ was written by BADWOR7H, while the kick drum and the synthesizer ‘that set the tempo’ were written by YUVI, and the bass line was recorded by musician GRABAR.

In August 2025, musician GRABAR released the diptych ‘2’, which includes the solo track ‘Nerukhomist’ and the joint track with YUVI called ‘Na podobu tobi’. The double music video for the diptych was shot by Ilia Dutsyk.

According to the musician, the first composition describes walls, both ‘literal and internal’: ‘It’s about what we hide behind them and what we search for beyond them. Which of our own walls we break down’.

‘‘Na podobu tobi’ is about what remains behind these broken walls. And most importantly — how to build something new. It’s about shelter and the search for a safe place in such a dangerous time,’ YUVI adds about the second track from the diptych.
