The new release by Ukrainian electronic musician Bohdan KBT Kyrychenko has come out on the Kyiv-based label Regulardisco. The EP ‘It’s Possible’ features seven ‘tracks made for the dancefloor’ in house and disco styles.
According to the musician, while working on the release he replaced his usual conceptual approach with a more ‘unconscious’ and ‘romantic’ mood:
‘In recent years I’ve stopped taking such a conceptual approach to music. I’ve realized that music with lyrics in languages I don’t even understand often touch me on a deeper level. So at this stage of my creative journey, making music feels less like a conscious act and more like working with the unconscious,’ Bohdan says.
The five original tracks by KBT on the EP are complemented by two remixes — from producer Thongvor and Regulardisco founder Kadiristy.
About KBT’ previous releases
In 2023, KBT released the album ‘Random City’, in which the musician ‘views people as mechanisms’.
‘What if we compare the human world to a computer, cities to microcircuits, and people and their interactions to a stream of 0s and 1s in the system? What if we reject the concept of ‘free will’ and see humans as a set of patterns — as a mechanism, a function.’
And in December 2024, the album ‘Errors’ was released, which KBT recorded under the pseudonym Keay in a duo with singer Entely.
‘‘Errors’ carries a story about mood swings and emotional ups and downs. Mental disorders are what unite us all,’ the musicians say.
