For the duo Fuji Moodji, ‘Svitlo’ became the fifth visualization of their latest album ‘Morpheus’. The video was directed by photographer and filmmaker Alina Prisich, marking her directorial debut
About the song
Fuji Moodji explains that ‘Svitlo’ is a song about finding a comfort zone after a long and exhausting journey — ‘a sense of safety mixed with a feeling of emptiness and apathy’.
The track is dedicated to the search for meaning, light, and answers within oneself — ‘something that justifies the suffering of an ordinary person’.
‘In the album’s concept, this song continues the idea that perhaps it’s more important not to acquire certain valuable things in life, but to leave behind something priceless — to leave light, hope, and a dream’, the duo explains.
About the video
This is not Alina Prisich’s first collaboration with musicians: she created the album covers for ‘Morpheus’ as well as the EP ‘Clark’. According to Alina, it was Fuji Moodji themselves who suggested making a video specifically for this song.
‘It seemed to me bright and sincere, with a sense of hope that is important not to lose right now. For my debut, I wanted a story that didn’t require overly complex imagery but worked through emotions. ‘Svitlo’ was a perfect fit,’ the photographer explains.
In the video, two characters follow a journey from waking up in the morning to meeting in a meadow: ‘they leave their apartments as if leaving behind their ordinary lives, and step into a space of nature, light, and freedom’.
Prisich explains that running barefoot through a field, flowers flying into the sky, the night light, and a solitary tree are ‘metaphors for the search for meaning and moments of sincerity’. ‘Even if the light turns out to be conditional, the movement toward it is what’s important, she says.
The video also continues the visual aesthetic of the ‘Morpheus’ album cover, and one of the main unifying details for them is nature and the ‘sense of light and freedom’ associated with it.
Про Morpheus
