Temptress magazine announces its sixth edition: ‘THE MONEY ISSUE’

The new issue of independent art magazine Temptress explores money ‘where it becomes uncomfortable’. For the first time, the magazine will be released with six different covers. The first features singer Kazhanna, photographed as Cinderella

The sixth issue tackles what the magazine calls a subject ‘more intimate than sex’ — money. It explores the theme through academic essays, confessions from strippers, a queer fashion editorial, ‘sex magic’ rituals, and experimental works by more than 25 contributors from Kyiv, Berlin, London, São Paulo, New York, Vienna, and Warsaw.

‘Through five issues, our focus was on the body, lust, and pleasure. This sixth time around, we ask: what is the price tag for all of this, and who gets the bill?’, Ukrainian artist and Temptress founder Julie Poly explains.

The new issue also includes an exclusive interview with Spanish conceptual artist Santiago Sierra. In a conversation with Ukrainian researcher Dasha Anosova, Sierra reflects on his work at a summit of oligarchs in Ukraine. The magazine also features a dialogue between journalist Anastasiia Kalyta and Swedish porn filmmaker Erika Lust.

The issue is complemented by a special insert featuring JOUISSANCE × TEMPTRESS scented stickers.

The cover story of the sixth Temptress features Kazhanna, who invites us into her home to talk about ‘what it means to be a singer today’. The feature was shot by visual artist Oleksandra Lianna and photographer Anton Cherniak.

The new issue will be launched on its release date, May 22, 2026, with a presentation at Berlin’s Schinkel Pavillon art gallery, featuring a live performance programme. Details of the Kyiv launch event will be announced at a later date.

About Temptress

Temptress is an independent art platform and print magazine founded by Julie Poly (Yuliia Poliashchenko) in 2021. The publication explores eroticism in Ukraine through the visual language of entertainment magazines and newspapers popular in the early 2000s. The first issue of Greshnitsa was released on June 6, 2021, focusing on themes of mysticism and symbolism.

The magazine’s main goal is to bring together Ukrainian artists working with themes of eroticism within a single publication. At the same time, as Julie Poly shared in a comment for DTF Magazine, ‘anyone expecting to see just naked photos of girls or similar content will be deeply disappointed. Temptress is about something else’.

Each issue has a distinct visual identity. Rather than committing to a single aesthetic, the team says it creates every edition in response to its current state of mind and the themes that feel most relevant at that particular moment.
