Meet MOT

Module of Temporality is a new temporary cultural space in Kyiv by the don’t Take Fake team. The two-storey structure, built from 27 containers-modules, will host an exhibition with 28 artists from 10 countries and a series of special events over the course of three months. In this way the team wants to demonstrate that large-scale cultural projects are possible in Ukraine even during the war and to raise funds for the restoration of cultural institutions damaged by russian aggression. DTF Magazine presents a special online project that will gradually tell the story of the project and introduce its participants.

About the exhibition and the artists

The central event of MOT is an exhibition created especially for this project. On the two floors of the space, both new heroes and artists known on the international art scene will present their works — canvases, sculptures, installations, and audiovisual works. The curator of the exhibition is Fabrice Bousteau, French art critic, curator and editor-in-chief of Beaux Arts magazine. In this section, we will tell you more about the participants of the exhibition, as well as do a series of exclusive interviews.

“MOT is about the fact that even in the midst of utter disaster and collapse, there remains room for life”, curator Fabrice Bousteau

MOT FUND

One of the goals of the project is to help restore cultural objects damaged by military operations. Anyone can join in filling the fund by purchasing a ticket to the space or any item in the gift store, and then the artists’ works at a special auction.

100% of the fund will be donated by the MOT team to restore art institutions and monuments, including museums, which at the end of the project will be chosen by the project team and cultural experts. Depending on the amount raised and the extent of the damage, we will have the opportunity to support one or more objects.

“While working on the project, we met many like-minded people among Ukrainian and international businesses who contributed to the realization of MOT and became our partners”, the don’t Take Fake team notes.
