The Berlin-based label PSY X has released ‘Thrill’, the third collaborative full-length album by Yana Pavlova and producer Pavlo Milyakov. The 14-track release is a direct sequel to their 2021 album, ‘Blue’
Miliakov and Pavlova worked on ‘Thrill’ for four years and managed to complete it shortly before Yana’s death in February 2025. In addition to new tracks, the release includes new versions of ‘Strong-Willed’ and ‘One Day Stand’.
‘So Hot (Wash Away All of My Tears)’ is a cover of a song by the rock band Spacemen 3, while ‘Song to the Siren’ is a cover of the song of the same name by Tim Buckley.
According to the description, the LP expands the ‘delicate language’ introduced on ‘Blue’. The label PSY X describes the album as ‘a fitting final chapter and at the same time an important document of Pavlova’s unique, ethereal voice’.
‘Fourteen scratchy, diaristic compositions move between ambient drift, field recordings, and loose jazz inflections, where haunted vocals, blurred guitars, and faded textures surface then dissolve again. Rather than setting into fixed forms, the music unfolds patiently, revealing quiet emotional weight and space’.
The title ‘Thrill’ refers to the singer’s track of the same name, released on Pavlo Miliakov’s EP ‘Enthropic Vision’ (2024). It was Yana’s last composition. The portrait of the musician, which became the album cover, was shot by Belgian photographer Lara Gasparotto.
In addition, a vinyl edition is available for pre-order and is set to be released in the summer of 2026.
About Yana Pavlova
Yana Pavlova was a Ukrainian vocalist, producer, and experimental musician. She passed away at the age of 35 in February 2025.
In December 2025, her track ‘Strong-Willed’ was included in a list of the 200 best electronic tracks of 2000–2025, compiled by the editors of the British publication Resident Advisor (RA). The track ranked No. 41. The publication described ‘Strong-Willed’ as ‘a document of both mourning and resilience’ and ‘a call for humanity’:
‘A simple, haunting bass synth by producer Pavlo Miliakov creates a bedrock for Yana Pavlova’s soft intonation: ‘Gonna take a while with it / Then you reach for it’. As Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine continues to ravage lands and livelihoods, ‘Strong-Willed’ is a call for humanity. Pavlova is gone now, but her voice still echoes out like she never left’.

The Resident Advisor list was compiled based on a survey of more than 100 artists, labels, clubs, promoters, DJs, journalists, RA staff members, and freelancers, who collectively cast ‘thousands of votes’.
