m0d44 created a sports line. Here’s a look at the first items

Kyiv-based brand m0d44 presented a new summer drop M044008(1). It also includes the first items created for the sportswear line m0d44_sp0rtswear

About the sports line

For the sports line, the brand created two sets of basketball uniforms and T-shirts made in the brand’s visual aesthetic. The sportswear is made of special lightweight, technological polyester that absorbs moisture and dries quickly.

In a comment for DTF Magazine, Anton Abo, the founder of m0d44, said that they had been thinking about the creation of a separate line for over a year. The brand developed the first sports items at the beginning of 2020, but the launch was constantly postponed.

‘We’re interested in this niche, although we don’t position these items as purely sporty. You can wear them to play basketball or play sports, but at the same time you can wear them for a walk or a party’.

He calls the new line experimental: the first items were dedicated to basketball, ‘because the team loves and plays basketball’, and in the future the team wants to add items for other sports. At the same time, Anton added that the brand does not plan to dedicate each drop to a different sports style.

Like other items in the m0d44 collections, the clothes in the sports line are unisex.

‘We never said we were a strictly masculine brand. Most of our clothes are unisex, and we try to make silhouettes that will be comfortable for both men and women to wear’, Abo explained.

In the near future, the m0d44 team will be adding sportswear to the range, and they plan to present a full sports line next year.

About M044008(1) drop

The summer drop M044008(1) also consists of oversize T-shirts and tank tops, basic shorts, cargo pants made of chambray fabric which is similar to denim, and pants with hand-embroidered moss print. Accessories include caps adorned with the brand slogan Not Great Not Terrible.

Most of the items in the collection are made of dense cotton. Each item is embellished with prints and m0d44 logos in a technical aesthetic.

You can buy items from the new drop on the brand’s website, in the Kyiv TSUM (Central Universal Department Store) and the concept store ‘LID’.

m0d44 together with the Pilsok brand also launched a charity raffle. The goal is to raise 300 thousand UAH to support the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade ‘Magura’, which is involved in combat operations in difficult areas.

Among the lots is a special package consisting of a basketball set from the new mod44 sports drop (Digital Distortion Sport Mesh tank top and shorts) plus two Pilsok backpacks with prints by m0d44.

To participate in the drawing you need to make a donation of 100 UAH at the link and send a screenshot in m0d44 Instagram DM. After that each participant will get his/her number; the more amount of donation — the more chances to win. Fundraising will continue until July 10, inclusive, and on July 11 the winner will be determined by random number generator.
