New place: workshop gallery of the Feldman sisters on Reitarska Street

Street artists Mishel and Nicol Feldman opened a new studio in the ‘courtyard with crows’ at 9 Reitarska Street. The space is positioned not only as the sisters’ creative studio, but also as an open garage gallery with constantly changing exhibitions

In a comment for DTF Magazine, the Feldman sisters said that they had wanted to open a space of this format for a long time, but ‘there was always something missing’.

‘We wanted a studio, a store, a gallery, and at the same time a place where we wanted to be. Something like the fashion houses in Japan, where the designer comes up with everything right in the store, without dividing the space’.

The new workshop features a range of works by Mishel and Nicol, including paintings and sculptures, as well as other items created by the sisters, such as journals, tarot cards, posters and chess. The Feldman sisters describe the workshop as a ‘living exhibition’.

‘Every day we create something new and something disappears. So every day one detail [of the space] changes. It’s a living exhibition that is constantly in process and constantly ready’.

Feldman’s workshop features works from the Technosapiens series, which explores the theme of the technology generation and how it facilitates and simultaneously depersonalizes human life. The artists created the works for an upcoming exhibition in London.

In February, Kyiv tattoo studio ‘Stroom’ changed its location near the Golden Gate (Zoloti Vorota) and moved to the Community Center by ‘Club on Kyrylivska’.
