BEFORE: Check out the new EP by the band TYSK

In October 2022, the musical formation TYSK, founded by Anton Nazarko and Alex Pervukhin, presented AFTER, the first part of their debut album. Now the band has released the EP BEFORE, the follow-up to the release

Unlike the first part, which includes tracks written after the start of the full-scale war, BEFORE consists of seven tracks written before February 24, 2022.

‘These are memories of the beginning, of our first tours, of pre-war Kharkiv, where we mixed these tracks in old school style at the analog studio of our Denis (SAXR) in February 2022’, the members of the TYSK band said.

The cover of both parts of the album is a photo of the Palace of Labour in Kharkiv: in BEFORE — before the russian missile hit it in March 2022, and in AFTER — afterwards.

‘It’s a symbolic place for the band. There, in the premises of our streetwear hub Sneaker Mate, was the studio where a lot of the songs from the album were written. Our first music video started there, and it was the place where we did our first live performance, — the musicians said when they presented the first part of the record. — We’re sure that in addition to the past and present, the Palace of Labour will be with us in the future. We’re sure there will be TYSK’.

On June 2, TYSK presented a music video for the track ‘Bishkek’ from the BEFORE album.

In it, the musicians combined archival tour videos and animations by Ukrainian illustrator Oles Derega.

In August 2022 the formation launched the vinyl label TYSK and presented its first release. It was a record of five remixes of the band’s tracks by musicians Koloah, TripPsy, Komponente & Kurilo, as well as by members of SAXR and Alex Pervukhin.
