Burton released a video about Ukrainian snowboarder Dmytro Luchkin

One of the heroes of the second season of the YouTube show ‘My Turn’ by Burton brand was 14-year-old Ukrainian snowboarder Dmytro Luchkin. The host of the project, American sports commentator and actor Selema Masekela, came to Innsbruck, where the Ukrainian athlete is currently staying, and talked about the war against Ukraine, training and future plans

The series, ‘titled Ukrainian Snowboard Prodigy Escapes the War’, contains real-life episodes of the war and also shows Luchkin’s current daily life — training and studying at a school in Innsbruck, where besides him there are several other Ukrainian children who have been forced to leave home due to russia’s full-scale invasion.

In March 2023, Luchkin placed second at the final round of the World Rookie Tour world series in Kaprun, Austria, in the slopestyle discipline.

And in January he won one of the stages of the World Rookie Tour in Livigno, Italy. There he took part in the U-15 (up to 15 years) category in the slopestyle contest and took first place against 37 competitors from all over the world.

The Ukrainian was also second in the category of athletes under 18 years old and received the prize for the best trick at the Nitro Rail Jam jib contest from the World Rookie Tour team, where he competed with adult riders.

Luchkin was a semifinalist at the 2020 Double Triple Snow Fest in snowboard air competition, and he placed fifth in the finals of that discipline at the 2021 Double Triple Snow Fest.
