Double Triple Fest Is Back. Two Action Spots Are to Be Installed in Kyiv

In 2021, don’t Take Fake and Radioday teams will hold two large-scale events as part of the Double Triple Fest in Kyiv. The first Double Triple Summer Fest will take place on 13–15 August and serve as one of the World Cup Skateboarding (WCS) series. There is also the third Double Triple Snow Fest for skiers and snowboarders coming back on 17–19 December. The venue for the events remains the same, that is, the People’s Friendship Arch. DTF Magazine provides a brief outline of what you need to know about the Double Triple Fest

The summer event is a continuation of the winter Double Triple Snow Fest. It will host international competitions in new Olympic sports: skateboarding and BMX freestyle. The total prize fund will exceed 10,000 euros (the final amount to be announced together with the park concept in late June).

The Kyiv Contest will serve as one of the series of the World Cup Skateboarding (WCS). It will unite athletes from different countries.

The World Cup Skateboarding (WCS) was founded in 1994. It includes several series, upon the results of which riders are given a special ranking. The ranking is used to select the best athlete of the year.  WCS contests take place in more than 15 countries, including the United States, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Canada, France, Portugal, Spain and Brazil, and, from now on, Ukraine.

To host the competitions, don’t Take Fake and Radioday teams will install two large-scale action spots in the centre of Kyiv under the People’s Friendship Arch. The summer BMX and skate park will have an area of more than 2,000 square meters (the snow park will be even bigger), and they will shortly present its concept.

Both summer and winter Double Triple Fests will now last for three days in a row. Only Ukrainian athletes will take part on the first day. It will be a contest with a separate prize fund and, at the same time, a qualification which, if passed, would allow the winners to compete with international riders in the next two days.

The first Double Triple Snow Fest contest for professional skiers and snowboarders took place in 2019. The park, installed every year for the competitions, is one of the largest urban snow parks in Europe. In December 2020, 80 riders from 18 countries, including Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Spain, and Georgia, competed in the Double Triple Snow Fest; the broadcast of the event being available all over the world.
