Together with Tresor Foundation, Some People will host a three-day educational and music event in Kharkiv on 28–30 August. Among the speakers are representatives of Tresor Academy, Clubcommission e.V., Radio Dopo and Resident Advisor
At Some People’s Centre for New Culture, speakers will lead discussions on the development of club culture, music project management and the creation of sustainable cultural ecosystems. Among them are:
Alex Samuels — founder of Radio Dopo and former head of Berghain’s own label, Ostgut Ton.
Chloe Lula — DJ, producer, and Tresor resident; Resident Advisor producer; curator and columnist for The Wire.
Martin Fuller — Dean of Tresor Academy, urban sociologist with 15 years of experience in culture, urbanism, and spatial planning.
Katharin Ahrend — cultural manager and creative producer, and one of the managing directors of Berlin Clubcommission e.V., where she leads the Tag der Clubkultur cultural award and showcase festival in Berlin.

The educational programme will be complemented by performances from Berlin club residents Stephanie Sykes and Chloe Lula, as well as Some People resident Sasha Pervukhin.
Anyone can apply to take part in the educational intensive until 1 August via the application form available here. Participation is free of charge, although organisers will not cover travel or accommodation expenses.
About the Some People Centre for New Culture
Some People’s former main hub was situated on Kvitky-Osnovianenka Street, where it shared space with Kharkiv’s Sneaker Mate dry cleaners, the rap.ua editorial team, and a café. In the opening days of the full-scale war in Ukraine, the building was severely damaged by a Russian missile attack.
The team began building the new space in August 2023 on the grounds of a former commercial machinery plant near the city’s historic centre.
The cultural center has launched a multi-genre concert venue that brings together the electronic scene, new Ukrainian music, and contemporary theater. Alongside the newly founded School of Creative Industries, the center is getting ready to debut sound production studios and a dedicated cinema for arthouse films and audiovisual performances.
