KSENIASCHNAIDER presented a new collection in London. And the second drop with adidas Originals

In the Spring/Summer 2024 collection, which is entirely made in Ukraine, the brand continues to experiment with new materials and technologies. The models were created with the help of artificial intelligence, and designers Anton Schnaider and Ksenia Schnaider worked with age-old and jacquard denim, as well as with fabric reminiscent of a holiday drape

ABOUT THE KSENIASCHNAIDER X ADIDAS ORIGINALS SECOND DROP

Before the show in London, the Ukrainian brand published in instagram a teaser of the continuation of cooperation with adidas Originals. It’s a shot showing a joint pair of sneakers with three stripes, decorated with a bright green tag (KSENIASCHNAIDER already used it on the Superstar and Forum Mid models from the first drop, which was also presented at London Fashion Week in February 2023).

Judging by the first runway shots, the collaboration includes a long dress with a white-yellow-blue print and three stripes on the side, several models of oversize T-shirts, as well as a belt bag with two handles, which aesthetically refers to household (‘plaid’) bags, and a bag imitating the adidas Originals classic blue box.

WHAT THE NEW KSENIASCHNAIDER COLLECTION IS LIKE

The collection includes denim pajamas and jumpsuits, an updated version of the Sportwear Spiral Dress in white, skirts and dresses embellished with fringe. Other recognizable silhouettes of the brand include Cossack Jeans, ‘as a sign of respect for Ukrainian traditional clothing’, and Wide Fringed Jeans, complemented by a denim shirt with the same high slits on the sides.

KSENIASCHNAIDER used innovative ecological fabrics to create some items: a special spraying of recycled cork stoppers visually made denim more aged-look, and some skirts, jackets and jeans are made of jacquard denim.

The look, which consists of a skirt, jacket and bag, is hand-knitted from denim yarn in a rug technique, while the new silhouettes of tops, skirts and pants are made from fabric ‘reminiscent of a holiday drape’.

‘The collection explores the connection between opposites such as past and present, traditionalism and new technologies, the use of new materials while reinterpreting the brand’s classic models, — the press release reads. — Spring/Summer 2024 is about the invention of the new by reflecting past experiences’.

The accessory line includes a black and gold Platform bag, as well as a burgundy Power Bag with red handles, patchwork cossack boots and shoes made from leftover denim.

KSENIASCHNAIDER show at London Fashion Week was held together with Ukrainian brands NADIA DZYAK and ELENAREVA.

The first KSENIASCHNAIDER x adidas Originals collection features iconic elements and silhouettes of both brands. In particular, the dress, top and tracksuit were created using the recognizable KSENIASCHNAIDER patchwork technique with adidas fabric remnants. They are based on the green shades of adiColor.

The first collab also includes items made of cotton denim: wader jeans with a knee cut in the format of sports pants and 2in1 jeans, that is, jeans with the upper part of adidas sports pants. Shirt dresses with raw edges and jackets with prints of traditional green tags are made of denim.
