The trio featuring guitarist and Mirage Camp 2024 participant Maryan Karpinskyi has released the album ‘Tut’ (Here) on the No Time For Swing label. The album’s eight tracks were recorded in a single continuous take, ‘with all the imperfections and unpolished moments’
Exclusively for DTF Magazine, Maryan spoke about the album and described each of its tracks
All the compositions are dedicated to a particular physical phenomenon or element: light, earth, fire, time, movement, darkness, wind, and water. In this way, the musician conveys his own perception of how ‘energy transforms into matter and, through music, is endowed with emotions’.
‘These elements, phenomena, and forces are what help me return to myself when I lose touch with myself’, Karpinskyi explains.
The trio chose to record the hour-long release without pauses in order to create the feeling of a live concert. The recording is accompanied by a video by director and photographer Lika Miroshnychenko, which was also shot in a single take.
‘We played all the compositions back to back, with all the imperfections and unpolished moments. It seems to me that improvisational jazz art should be just like that — real and very sincere’, the musician adds.

Mysterious, cautious, eerie, yet calm, thoughtful, and simple. Even in complete darkness, there is light — you just need to see it.

A current that flows through the earth with the passage of time, moving through light and darkness, taming the fire fanned by the wind, reminds us of all the forms of life.
About Maryan Karpinskyi Experience
The project was founded in 2023 ‘as a response to the inner need to create during the war in Ukraine’. According to Maryan, the group’s ‘Drohobych fusion’ combines meditativeness and fluidity with live energy and tension — ‘it is music of freedom, trust, and profound meaning’.
In 2024, the band, then a quintet (Stanislav Diachenko, Mykhailo Halaktyonov, Dmytro Kryshtal, Denys Arkharov, and Maryan Karpinskyi), recorded and released their debut album ‘Zolotyi Karp’.
In 2025, Maryan Karpinskyi Experience began developing a trio format alongside the quintet and released the single ‘Svitlo’. In addition to Maryan Karpinskyi, the trio consists of drummer Oleksandr Yavdyk and bassist Anna Ryzhova.
The musicians also participate in projects such as Maria Lui, Yevhenii Dubovyk Project, YUVI, Tónka, Yarima, Carlo Muscat, and the Yevhen Puhachov quintet.
