The events take place during the Malanka holiday and are based on the biblical story about Abraham.

Filming took place in the Carpathians and Bukovyna in autumn 2020, and the main roles were played by Oleksandr Yatsentyuk, Solomiia Kyrylova («Leopolis Night»), Oleksandr Yarema («Numbers»), Rymma Zyubina («The Nest of the Turtledove») and locals. The film’s script, which was written by Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk («Weightlifter»), was developed at the Cannes International Film Festival Cinéfondation Residence.

The film premiered at «Directors’ Fortnight» at the Cannes Film Festival where it received positive reviews from film critics. In Ukraine, the film was released on March 23 and grossed more than 11 million UAH after the fifth weekend.
