DTF Magazine continues the series of selections with items from Ukrainian brands. This time it’s new collaborations, warm basic clothes, bomber jackets, jeans and accessories.
Brands are experimenting with techniques and materials, such as using upcycled T-shirts, fabric imitating burnt wood, and creating clothes with AR technology
The Kyiv-based brand presented a limited-edition hoodie drop dedicated to Ukraine. Earlier PIECEOFSHIRT already used bootleg designs with patriotic motifs in T-shirts and hoodies. We told you more about the brand here.
The black and white jeans from the collaboration between the denim brand and BASEMNT concept store are inspired by the artistic avant-garde of the twentieth century, «whose goal was to break with everything old and create a new system of values and a new society». The green T-shirt with blue trim and print was created from vintage reconstructed cotton T-shirts. This item was included in Drop 10 and will be on sale soon.
The artist Yaroslava Savvina makes knitwear, mostly reminiscent of merch: she knits the names of bands like Sex Pistols, Coil, The Smiths, as well as various symbols and signs on sweaters. The inscription Punk is dad on the sleeve of this striped sweater refers to the phrase «punk’s not dead».
The black cardigan is made of Polartec fleece, which, according to the brand’s website, is made mostly from post-consumer recycled polyester and from recycled water bottles. The cardigans are available in three colors namely black, gray and red.
The limited-edition capsule includes items with prints by seven artists. This one features the work of Kyiv abstractionist Danylo Manzhos. After activating the hoodie with a qr code, you can see a 3D animation based on the artist’s art.
«The texture of the fabric references burnt wood and reminds us of the frailty of all material and living things, as well as the pernicious influence of humanity», the brand team said on Instagram.
The backpack with checkerboard print and yellow accents is made of cordura. It is a thick nylon fabric with a special yarn structure that has water repellent properties.
The black transformer bag made of membrane fabric can be worn in two ways, namely as a shopper bag, and as a crossbody bag. It also comes with a small purse.
An oversize trench coat with an asymmetrical collar is complete with a hood and a dickey. As the brand team notes on Instagram, the water-repellent insulation raincoat fabric will keep you warm in temperatures reaching zero degrees.
The bomber jacket with a quilted insulated lining was made of rainproof fabric and is completed with drawstring fasteners. In addition to black, the bomber jackets are available in khaki and orange.
The high tactical winter boots are equipped with a high cushioned sole with deep tread made of thermoplastic rubber. According to the brand’s website, this material is resistant to abrasion and temperature fluctuations. The model is available for pre-order, but will be ready for shipment tentatively in the second half of October.
