The plot of «Pamfir» is about a decent family man, Pamfir, who returns home after several years working abroad. After controversial deeds in the past, the main character has to turn to crime again because of his son’s wrongdoing. The events take place during the Malanka carnival and are based on the biblical story about Abraham.

Filming took place in the Carpathians and Bukovyna in autumn 2020, and the main roles were played by Oleksandr Yatsentyuk, Solomiia Kyrylova («Leopolis Night»), Oleksandr Yarema («Numbers»), Rymma Zyubina («The Nest of the Turtledove») and locals. The film’s script, which was written by Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk («Weightlifter»), was developed at the Cannes International Film Festival Cinéfondation Residence.
