First look: KSENIASCHNAIDER reimagines adidas Samba sneakers

The Ukrainian brand continues to work on iconic adidas Originals silhouettes. Following the ‘Superzirka’, which was the hit of the first drop, now KSENIASCHNAIDER has reinterpreted the adidas Samba model

The feature of the Samba 2.0 sneakers is a textile striped colored upper, made in KSENIASCHNAIDER signature patchwork technique. In addition to the double branding, there is a green price tag on the insole — a recognizable element in the designs by the Ukrainian brand, and the side part is complemented with an embroidered inscription Samba.

They also added a rubber translucent sole to the sneakers.

Highsnobiety has already called this version of Samba ‘a next level in its history’.

In September, photos of the new joint pair of KSENIASCHNAIDER and adidas were published by Western sneaker insiders and publications, including Highsnobiety and Knowing Kicks. However, the news went almost unnoticed in the Ukrainian information space, and none of the brands officially commented on the leaked information.

According to our information, this pair was indeed designed by the Ukrainian brand in collaboration with adidas Originals. Whether and when it will be released is still unknown.

The first KSENIASCHNAIDER x adidas Originals collection, presented in June, featured iconic elements and silhouettes of both brands. In particular, the dress, top and tracksuit were created from adidas fabric remnants using patchwork techniques. They are based on green shades of adiColor.

The first collab also includes items made of cotton denim: wader jeans with a knee cut in the format of sports pants and 2in1 jeans, that is, jeans with the upper part of adidas sports pants, as well as shirt dresses with raw edges and jackets with prints of traditional green tags.

The second collection with sports brand KSENIASCHNAIDER was presented at the brand’s show during London Fashion Week. The collaboration includes a long dress with a white-yellow-blue print, several models of oversize T-shirts, a belt bag with two handles, which aesthetically refers to household (‘plaid’) bags, and a bag imitating the adidas classic blue shoe box.
