Sania.Jeweler has released a series of silver jewelry. It includes seven new items: two mono-earrings, an earcuff, a bracelet, a chain, a pendant and a ring
‘Some time ago I was drawing chain designs for a custom order and did about twenty versions in total. As often happens, the client dropped the project. I really liked one of the designs and decided to just make it for myself’, Oleksandr Horbachenko, the brand’s founder, tells DTF Magazine in a commentary.
The first item in the new collection was a bracelet. When the jeweler was finishing the 3D model of the chain, he came up with ideas for new items, and in one evening he drew five more pieces of jewelry.
In total, the work on the collection lasted three and a half months, and, according to Oleksandr, the biggest challenge was to make the jewelry versatile and comfortable. ‘After I made the samples I had to discard and not release a lot of designs’.
Each of the items has the letter combination RB in its name, which stands for Reflective Brilliance. ‘The items have many surfaces that shimmer in the light’, Oleksandr explains.
The most expensive item in the collection is a chain worth eight hundred dollars. When Horbachenko was asked to explain the pricing, he replied: ‘The chain has such a price because we decided so’.
First, we draw all Sania.Jeweler models by hand directly on paper, then we print the samples on a 3D printer, and usually one model has three or four plastic samples. Then we finalize the mold, send it to production, where they carve the models out of wax using a machine, and then they cast it in silver. The last stage is machining, polishing and assembling the jewelry.
The bracelet from the new drop resembles Link bracelet, but technically it’s harder to make this bracelet because it has a lot more surfaces. ‘It’s also much more massive, each element has its own sides, and there are many more of them than in the old one. In total it weighs four times as much, maybe even five times as much. And it takes a lot of time to make this mold, because we have to make so many elements’.
Sania.Jeweler is a brand founded by Oleksandr Horbachenko in 2020. They produce items with different designs: from a ring and earrings with a chestnut — the symbol of Kyiv — to jewelry with the Tesla logo, with imitation of cracks and in strict geometric shapes.
The main material of Sania.Jeweler’s jewelry is silver, but the brand also makes them in gold for custom orders, and they use platinum and bronze for accessories like key hooks.
