Online radio Gasoline, founded by Kharkiv-based Kultura Zvuku, has asked for support from its listeners and is raising funds to continue its work. Gasoline was fully launched in May 2022 and is fully functions thanks to donations
The team estimates that in less than a year of existence they have made more than 1,000 broadcasts with original shows, podcasts, live shows and rare and unknown music.
«Launched during the war and experiencing all its trials, Gasoline radio continues to be a stable mouthpiece of the Ukrainian underground and the only independent radio station thst functions on a regular basis… Currently we can continue our work only with the support of listeners and those who care about our contribution to the activity of Ukrainian culture», said in the Gasoline’s post.

The team explained that the funds raised will help implement projects planned for 2023, aimed at more active coverage of «various segments of the Ukrainian independent scene» and to involve foreign selectors and collectors in cooperation.
DTF Magazine and Gasoline held three joint broadcasts in the summer and fall, with the goal of covering Ukrainian culture. During the events we also collected donations to support the volunteer initiatives «Livyj bereh» and Kyiv Angels. You can read more about the first broadcast here, and about the second, dedicated to the 31st anniversary of Independence of Ukraine, — here.
The third, already international broadcast took place in October. The DTF Magazine and Gasoline Radio teams teamed up with friendly Amsterdam bands — Into The Woods Festival, ADE Hangover, Treehouse and ї.collective — and presented 10 electronic live shows, which were broadcast simultaneously from Kyiv and Amsterdam.
Gasoline, a non-profit media platform, was founded by members of the Kharkiv association Kultura Zvuku. It started operating back on February 22, but its activity was suspended after the start of a full-scale war on February 24. In May, the team restarted the project.
Gasoline’s main goal is to talk about Ukrainian culture and bring together musicians, DJs, artists and activists to «give heroes an opportunity to focus on a topic that they like and are interested in». The platform’s team says it’s important for them to «expand listeners’ musical knowledge, form a community and put Ukrainian musicians in a global context».
The platform broadcasts shows by local artists, while exploring forgotten and lost artifacts of Ukrainian music and other art forms to «form a unified view of Ukrainian culture and its history».
